More than 450 students, parents, teachers and volunteers got together on May 18 at the North Hastings Community Centre in Bancroft for the 19th Celebration of Dance.

Under the direction of Collette Freeman from Maynooth Public School, the students age four to 19 years of age, danced and danced.

Music and videos are sent to each schools a few months prior to the event so when all the school s come together everyone knows the same moves.

This years, the Celebration of Dance North event hosted students from the North Hastings High School, York River Public School, Bird's Creek, Hermon and Maynooth Public School.

Trustee Lucille Kyle was also on hand for the event and she was quick to jump in and learn some moves from the kids.

Students were given breaks between some of the songs and enjoyed popsicles while watching special dance numbers like Michael Jackson's Thriller that was performed by the students from NHHS.

Everyone enjoyed the event and even the teachers were showing off their awesome moves.
