Title: Fatality on Loop Road near Wilberforce

On Sunday, April 19, at approximately 7:49 p.m. officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a single vehicle collision on Loop Road in the Municipality of Highlands East. Officers attended the location and observed a Volkswagen Beetle car in the ditch.

A 12-year-old male passenger, from the Municipality of Highlands East died as a result of the collision. The 44-year-old male driver and nine-year-old male passenger, both of the Municipality of Highlands East sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing with the assistance of an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator (T.T.C.I).

The names of the involved persons are not being released as the investigation is ongoing at this time.
