Square dance train rolls in

September 16, 2015

Happy folks and happy feet filled the Old Train Station in Bancroft as the first in a series of square dances for seniors launched Wednesday September 9, 2015! The evening was made possible thanks to the wonderful generosity of the volunteer musicians, widely known in the community for playing and square dancing at the Manor. Many thanks and much appreciation goes out to Florence Musclow (bass, guitar, and vocals), Iva Plunkett (caller), Harold Jones (guitar), Eugene Mountney (fiddle, guitar, and vocals), Pauline Ramsbottom (fiddle), Bob Mayhew (keyboard), Bill Bandy (guitar), Jim McPherson (banjo) Dennis Richard (mandolin, guitar, and vocals) and their mascot Yanta the guide dog. These fabulous musicians kept the room hopping and feet tapping with tons of laughter and singing! This is another fine example of volunteers in our community offering their hearts and time to bring people together. Thank you to everyone who attended!
The event was organized and hosted by Community Care North Hastings, and the venue was provided by the Bancroft Chamber of Commerce.
