OPP investigating fatal crash in Algonquin Park

On Oct. 3 at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers of the Killaloe detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious crash between a passenger vehicle and a bus on Hwy. 60 near Tea Lake Campground.
An eastbound SUV that had pulled onto the shoulder of the road, driven by Jing Xu, 51 of Richmond Hill, ON, turned left, across the path of a eastbound motor coach bus, driven by a 61-year-old Scarborough man.
The driver of the SUV died at scene; his three passengers were transported to hospital for serious injuries. The driver of the bus was taken to hospital for injuries. The 53 bus passengers, from the Toronoto area, were not injured and taken from the scene by another passenger bus.
Hwy. 60 between Hwy. 127 and Hwy. 35 was closed for approximately 12 hours. The OPP would like to thank all the emergency services partners and the staff of Algonquin Provincial Park for their response.
