Peewee girls take on Eagles

November 10, 2015

The Leveque Brothers/Rock Breakers Peewee Girls took to the home ice Saturday to take on the Ennismore Eagles.
The girls did not waste any time getting on the scoreboard with a quick goal scored by Beth Brownlee and assisted by Olivia Villamere.
Before the first period was finished Elyse Ives found the back of the net, unassisted, to give the Jets a 2-0 lead.
The second period brought on a lot of great saves by both goaltenders and some end-to-end battling before the Jets increased their lead scored by Villamere, assisted by Jaylin Frost and Chloe Billings.
The Jets played a solid defensive game and finished the game 4-0 with a final goal by Villamere, assisted by Frost and Billings. Shutout credits go to Courtney Semach.
On Sunday the girls were back on the ice at home against the Otonabee Wolves looking for some redemption after being handed their first loss by them the week before.
Both teams picked up where they left off with some great passing and solid goaltending.
The Jets were the first on the scoreboard with a goal scored by Hannah McMann, assisted by Brownlee and Emily Alexander. The second period started with all the parents holding their breath in the stands as we watched the girls battle along the boards to be the first to the puck.
The Jets managed to add to their lead with a goal from the hot stick of Villamere, assisted by Ryan Rupnow and Ava Smith.
Otonabee was not going to go away quietly as they netted one past Semach. The Jets wanted to show their support to their goalie and came roaring back to uphold their two goal lead with a goal by Ives, assisted by Emma Tidey and Peyton Armstrong. Knowing how quickly Otonabee could turn the game around Hanna McMann got the puck past the goaltender, assisted by Brownlee and Emma Neuman.
Before the period was over Armstrong found the top corner of the net, assisted by Ives. Otonabee managed another goal in the third period to close the game out with another Jets win at 5-2. Great team work girls.
We also would like to wish Sterling a very speedy recovery and cannot wait to see you back on the ice.
