December 28, 2015

Rob Pearson and talks to the atom Jets players after they have completed the skills part of the day and before they set out to scrimmage against one another.

Boyer GM Bancroft hosted a Community Minor Hockey Day at the North Hastings Community Centre on Monday, Dec. 21. The hockey drills and mini games were coached by special guest Rob Pearson, Toronto Maple Leaf alumnus. The day was packed with different age groups taking to the ice during their designated time slots. Pearson along with Brandon Boyer and Ryan Courtney from the Boyer Group and volunteers from the bantam and midget Jets and the North Kawartha Knights put the kids through some very fast paced skating and stick handling drills before they lined up against each other in a friendly scrimmage. The Boyer Group has assisted many communities develop children in their respective sports through all day coaching clinics. “It is a great way to give back to the community” said Brandon. The day was a huge success and there were lots of smiles from the kids as they watched and listened to a former NHL player give them some great advice.
