Peewee Jets defeat Frontenac to take series

January 26, 2016

Thursday, Jan. 21 the Vito’s Pizzeria Peewee Jets jumped in their vehicles to make the long journey to Frontenac for the fourth game in the series.

Desi Davies started the fast paced action for the Jets putting in the first goal of the game in the first two minutes, unassisted. Colson Jenkins puts the Jets on the board again slamming one in the net assisted by Owen Fergusson. With a minute left on the clock Davies puts in another assisted by defence Tanner Potts and Trevor McDowell. This gives Bancroft a three-goal lead going into the second.

The second period had the parents and fans worried as Frontenac started to out skate us. Two Bancroft penalties allowed the Flyers to sneak in two early goals. With two minutes left, “Hat Trick” Davies strikes again putting in another goal for the Jets unassisted.

The third period we outplayed Frontenac with an early goal scored by Desi Davies assisted by Gavin Plunkett and Connor Sobry. Even with some distractions behind his net Phillip Cannon kept his cool, shutting down any scoring attempts by the Flyers. With 46 seconds on the clock Winger Ryker Huygens seals the deal assisted by Trevor McDowell and Cody Switzer. Final score 6-2 for the Peewee Jets.

The Jets hit the road Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 to take on the Campbellford Colts in the second series. They bring the action back to home ice Friday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
