OPP investigate hit and run death

The Killaloe OPP detachment hope an appeal to the public will assist the investigation into the 2005 fatal hit and run that killed 78-year-old Bernice Billings.
On Feb. 5, 2005, between  8:05 p.m. and  8:30 p.m., Bernice Billings was struck by a vehicle while walking on Inglis Street in Madawaska Valley Twp.
Her body was found by an off-duty paramedic who contacted the Renfrew County ambulance to attend the scene. 
Billings was transported to hospital and was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained. Authorities believe these injuries are consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Killaloe OPP, Sgt. Bruce Sawbridge or call Crimestoppers with information that may assist with this investigation.
