Jets among best in Ontario

April 14, 2016

A year ago this month, 15 young women from the Minden, Haliburton and Bancroft areas came together to form the Leveque Brother/Rock Breaker Bancroft Peewee Girl Jets hockey team. Courtney Semach, Charity Trotter, Chloe Billings, Ryan Rupnow, Emily Alexander, Jaylin Frost, Elyse Ives, Sterling Nesbitt, Emma Tidey, Ava Smith, Emma Neuman, Olivia Villamere, Hannah McMann, Beth Brownlee and Peyton Armstrong collectively became a force to be reckoned with.
This Jets team had a very successful regular season, and carried that momentum right throughout playoffs, playdowns and two championship weekends. As their season came to an end this past weekend at provincials, the Leveque Brother/Rock Breaker Peewee girls held their heads high after three games of high calibre hockey.
With a win and two losses, the girls, although disappointed, celebrated ranking within the top 20 teams in Ontario. This team worked hard, played hard, and had fun in the process of learning new skills.
The team would like to send extreme thanks to their sponsors, coaches, their family, friends, and fans who have supported their incredible journey. The Leveque Brothers/Rock Breaker Peewee Girl Jets will now head for tryouts, break for the summer months and never forget the memories made in the 2015/2016 season.
