Donate your used snowsuit to a child in need

September 24, 2014

To the Editor,

As fall turns to winter members of the Bancroft & Area Adopt-A-Child committee are gearing up for the 25th annual Adopt-A-Child winter snowsuit program. For the past 24 years, this program has provided warm winter clothing for the children in the North Hastings area.
Last year, 127 children received warm snowsuits and boots, thanks to the generous donations from individuals, businesses and organizations in the North Hastings area.
The Adopt-A-Child program is designed to help children of low-income families residing in the following areas: Town of Bancroft, Municipality of Hastings Highlands, Faraday Township, Carlow-Mayo Township, Wollaston Township, Limerick Township, Cashel Township and Cardiff.
Registration by persons asking for clothing will continue this year on specific dates and times at the OPP station in Bancroft.  Registration dates are as follows:
Monday Sept. 29, Tuesday, Sept. 30 and Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 6, Tuesday, Oct. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Due to the volume of winter clothing that must be ordered and to ensure winter clothing is available in a timely manner, registration will close on Oct. 8.
All registrations must be completed in person by a custodial caregiver or parent.
Applicants must bring proof of custody (ie. health card) and proof of residency in the area (i.e. driver’s licence).
