			<title>Bancroft dismisses treasurer</title>

<p class="p2"><span class="s1">In a sudden move, the Town of Bancroft decided to end the contract it had with Craig Davidson, who has been serving as treasurer since January 2015. Fay Brown, who used to work for the Municipality of Hastings Highlands before her retirement, will serve as acting treasurer.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Like Davidson (who previously had served as treasurer and CAO of Hastings Highlands), Brown will serve under a contract of employment.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s1">Mayor Bernice Jenkins advised that Bancroft will advertise for a full-time staff position as treasurer in the near future.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Other than that, she had no comment on the abrupt departure of Davidson, other than to wish him well.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><span class="s1">At the last council meeting, former acting CAO Steve Silver, who was recently engaged on contract to provide assistance to the current CAO, advised councillors on potential reorganization and new staffing measures in town administration.<span class="Apple-converted-space">       </span></span></p>]]></content-encoded>
