UPDATE: Since news broke in the early evening hours of Sunday, Jan. 8 that a shooting incident had taken place at the Canadian Tire in Bancroft, police were on the scene investigating who was responsible for this dangerous crime. As a result of their investigation Bancroft OPP announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10 that they had apprehended Steven Moreau, a 27-year-old from Bancroft. The accused has been charged with the criminal offences of: Mischief Under $5,000 - three counts; Mischief Over $5,000; Reckless Discharging of a firearm; and, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

The accused has been held in custody and was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Jan.10 in relation to the criminal charges.
