A great variety of music from the festive season will be sung by the choir during this special performance. Admittance will be by cash donation at attendees' discretion. For more information, go to “North Hastings Community Choir” on Facebook or contact Laurie Fenner at lashagrie1234@gmail.com. Fenner told Bancroft This Week on Nov. 16 that preparations for the Nov. 30 performance are going very well. “We began to rehearse for this concert at the beginning of our fall session (Sept 2025) and the weather has cooperated with no cancellations necessary.  Our choir director, Melissa Stephens, seems to always ensure that we are in ‘top form' for all of our recitals,” she says. Fenner says they've been doing this Christmas recital since the beginning of their time as a group, approximately 25 years, and that they perform two recitals a year; this one and a spring recital. The theme of this year's Christmas recital is “Home for the Holidays, and she says the program will be a surprise for those who attend on Nov. 20. “[People can expect] both traditional and non-traditional songs, all with a Christmas/winter theme. There will be an opportunity for the audience members to sing a few carols,” she says. Fenner says that in order to ensure that everyone can attend the recital, they are only asking for a donation. “Last Christmas, we were able to raise almost $1,700 and hope that with the posters that we have put up around town, our Facebook page and an ad in Bancroft This Week paper, that we will generate the awareness to equal or better this amount. We also hope that the weather will cooperate!” she says. Fenner told Bancroft This Week that the recital will go for approximately two hours, with a 15-minute intermission halfway through. She says she hasn't heard any feedback from the community on the forthcoming show. “However, comments on our Facebook page from our audience members for previous concerts we have done have indicated that they enjoyed it.” --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2025-11-25 15:28:05 Post date GMT: 2025-11-25 20:28:05 Post modified date: 2025-11-25 15:28:07 Post modified date GMT: 2025-11-25 20:28:07 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
