<content-encoded>
To the Editor,

I for one am sick and tired of hearing about the curbside pick-up in Hastings Highlands. I do not believe anyone received a reduction in their tax bill when we lost the pick-up, so we are still paying for this service. A suggestion by Mr. Shouldice would be to move to a central landfill site and close its remaining sites. In this case how far would people have to drive to get to the landfill site? This could create more garbage being put on the sides of the roads and we don't want that.

I am also sure that people do not want to pay another $300 or so a year for garbage pick-up, as the taxes for this area are already high enough for the services we get. This council has had suggestions on what they can do option wise, and need to get this resolved, not drag this issue out for years.
