Help end violence against women Vote Pro-ChoiceTo the Editor, I was appalled to see the anti-abortion mob in downtown Bancroft over the weekend so soon after the tragedy in Wilno. How dare they tell us what we can and cannot do with our body! Violence against women takes shape in many forms and I believe men telling women how they can take care of their bodies one of these forms. I noticed that many of the protesters were men, which to me made this demonstration of ignorance even more offensive. Noticing that one of the anti-abortion group wearing a Daryl Kramp button I asked him why he was wearing it. He said “Because he is the only pro-life candidate on our ticket in Bancroft.” His answer surprised me, but it also helped me make up my mind as to who I am not voting for. Tell the Conservatives to stop endorsing such violence against women by voting ABC – Anything But Conservative. Anne Barker Barry's Bay |
