The Government of Ontario will consult with industry, stakeholders, communities and Indigenous peoples over the summer with the goal of improving public transportation between communities. Public consultation sessions are already under way and will continue into August in North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Niagara Falls, Toronto, London, Sarnia and Kingston. While participating in-person may be too long of a commute for some area locals, the government is inviting Ontarians to get involved through a discussion paper on the Environmental Registry by Aug. 22, online or by letter. Ideas can be submitted via Twitter @OnMinTransport with #OnIntercommunityBus or by emailing the ministry at IntercityBus@ontario.ca. Letters can be sent to 777 Bay Street, Suite 3000, Toronto, Ont., M7A 2J8. Intercommunity transportation has become a hot topic in the area after Scotiabank announced it would be closing its Maynooth and Wilberforce branches. Intercommunity transportation includes any public fare service that helps community members between their communities including buses and shuttle services. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- Excerpt: The Ministry of Transportation is looking to talk to Ontarians about intercommunity transportation. --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2016-07-21 00:00:58 Post date GMT: 2016-07-21 04:00:58 Post modified date: 2016-07-20 17:53:00 Post modified date GMT: 2016-07-20 21:53:00 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
