Bancroft Theatre Guild hosts second murder mystery

“Who hasn’t been to a wedding and thought, you know what, someone here should die?” asked Bancroft Theatre Guild president Kevin Newman. “Usually it’s the best man, or one of the groomsmen, or the creepy ex boyfriend or girlfriend that showed up with someone else — everyone wants someone to die at a wedding. Not everyone is happy by the end of the night, especially the in-laws, neither of them are happy.”

Bancroft decides to take over town recycling

Bancroft town council has decided to take over the collection and management of its recycling program. It is currently handled by an outside contractor. It made the decision at a closed meeting; last week Greenview Environmental presented the cost figures involved.

Laurie Townsend comes to Bancroft art gallery

The talk will be held at the AGB, 10 Flint Ave. Bancroft, Ont., at 2:00 p.m., Sunday Aug. 21. The talk and screening of her work will be followed with an informal Question and Answer session with the artist.

Library future uncertain

The future of the Wollaston and Limerick Union Public Library located in Coe Hill is up in the air after the Limerick municipal council decided to withdraw from its agreement with Wollaston, effective the end of this year.

Comedy continues at Playhouse

ONEYmoon plays two nights in Bancroft on Thursday, Aug. 18 and Friday, Aug. 19. The Thursday night audience can also add a dinner on the patio for an additional $15.
