Bantams on fire this weekend

The Bierworth Readi-Mix Bantams were at home this weekend for two games and they did not disappoint their hometown crowd.
Saturday, they faced off against Brighton, in a game the Jets dominated. The Jets scored three goals within a minute, to take an early 3-0 lead. Easton Morrison kicked off the scoring (assisted by Carter Thrower), the second by Chris Poste (assisted by Brett Cooney and Morrison), and then Brett Cooney wrapped up the trio of goals (assisted by Jack Kauffeldt). The Jets maintained their 3-0 lead throughout the rest of the first. Halfway through the second, Jared McCaskie added another one, assisted by Riley Krieger and Jesse Mountney. Bancroft made it 6-0 before the end of the second, with two more goals in the final 43 seconds, goals by Kauffeldt (assisted by Riley Hunt and Brodie Cooney) and Hunt (assisted by Brodie Cooney). The Jets continued their assault in the third, adding three more goals in the first five minutes. Goals scored by Brett Cooney (assisted by Kauffeldt), Kauffeldt (assisted by Thrower), and Poste (assisted by Hunt). With 2:25 left on the clock, Brett Cooney wrapped up his hat trick and the Jets scoring, to make it a 10-0 final, assisted by Morrison and Poste. Ethan Glecoff was between the pipes for the Jets and played awesome to earn the shut out.
Sunday, it was the Jets against the Stirling Blues. The Jets gave up the opening goal of the game late in the first and the Blues were up 1-0 heading into the second. The Jets seemed to settle in in the second and turned it on. ust under six minutes in, Brodie Cooney took the puck up and sniped it in for a shorthanded goal, assisted by Ben Gaebel. Minutes later, McCaskie scored a backhander for the go ahead goal, assisted by Kreiger. Brett Cooney added one more for the Jets before the end of the period, assisted by Poste, to make it 3-1 after two. Four and a half minutes into the third, Brett Cooney scored again, assisted by Poste and Gaebel. Andrew Miller was impressive in net, as he continually denied the Blues. Final score was 4-1 Jets.
The Bantams next games are Friday, Nov., 20 at 7:45 in Ennismore and at home on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. against Campbellford.
