Not too early to plan for spring tree planting

December 19, 2015

The Bancroft Area Stewardship Council has launched their 2016 Tree and Shrub Program that provides low-cost seedlings to local landowners.
The program offers species suitable for reforestation of open areas, naturalizing shorelines, and/or creating wildlife habitat.  Choose from white pine, red pine, white cedar, white spruce and red oak seedlings. Also available are shoreline and upland shrub bundles of serviceberry, sumac, wild raisin, chokecherry, dogwood, nannyberry, alder and cranberry.
This could be a great gift pack for that hard-to-buy-for person on your shopping list, or a great spring activity for the whole family. Place your order now to reserve trees and shrubs for this coming spring.
Orders can be placed by visiting the BASC online store at  www.bascstore.ecwid.com. Plan to pick up your order during the first weekend in May (weather dependent).
Planting trees is good for so many reasons – get involved in this great stewardship activity!
