The donor wall becomes the giving wall

July 14, 2016

The Quinte Health Care North Hastings donor wall.

Since its dedication in 2000, the donor wall at Quinte Health Care North Hastings has almost doubled in size. Located in the foyer of the North Hastings District Hospital, this donor wall recognizes donations of a minimum of $1,000 from individuals, businesses, municipalities and organizations which support the purchase of equipment and training needed to sustain and advance care at North Hastings District Hospital, in Bancroft.

More than 500 plaques currently surround this donor wall; a wall size, wooden relief carving by artist Ron Caya. The carving depicts the history of North Hastings, specifically the three pillars of economic development, mining, forestry and tourism. The donor wall is truly the giving wall, reflecting the generosity and commitment of local residents, businesses and visitors who understand and perhaps have experienced the need to support a local, rural hospital and the people it serves. Over the years there has been a growing trend towards making donations in memory of a person(s), whose life may have been touched by the care and support they and their families received at North Hastings Hospital.

When donations for a cause or from a donor accumulate to $1,000 they will earn themselves a place on the donor wall. For more information on purchasing a plaque or to find out how close you are to having a plaque, contact Quinte Health North Hastings Fund Development Committee, P.O. Box 157, Bancroft ON, K0L 1C0 or call 613-332-2826 ext. 6220.
