Tweed and Co offer fall classes for local youth and teens

Tweed and Co. Theatre is offering its fall theatre classes for young people aged 4 years to their teenaged years in Bancroft again this year starting on Sept. 22 on Tuesday evenings. The classes will go until Nov. 10. They’ve been offering these classes for the past three years. Tim Porter, the artistic and co-executive director of Tweed & Co. comments to The Bancroft Times about these classes. 

Tweed & Co. is a registered charity and the creator and producer of original Canadian musical theatre and quality traditional grassroots theatre. They own and operate theatres in Tweed and in Bancroft. They have been active since late 2009 and produced five large scale original Canadian musicals and countless other Canadian and international productions. Tweed & Co. is offering the following classes for Bancroft and area youngsters and teens aged 4 to 18 years; Music and Movement ages 4 to 6, Kids’ Musical Theatre ages 7 to 12, and Teen Musical Theatre ages 13 and above. Porter told The Bancroft Times on Sept. 17 that they are so excited to bring their youth theatre classes back to town this fall. 

“Parents and kids can expect a fun and safe environment where students can try something new, expand their skillsets and take their talent to the next level. We have been offering these educational programs since 2023, and hundreds of kids have come through our classes since we started.,” he says. “The community response is always wonderful and there is a lot of excitement to see them return each year.”
